Autologous Fat Grafting Facial Surgery is a procedure that utilizes excess fat from various areas of the body (commonly from the abdomen, flanks, buttocks, and thighs). Through minimally invasive liposuction, very small fat globules are purified and separated. Using an MAFT-Gun fat injection device, the fat is then accurately, quantitatively, and precisely injected into the desired areas that need fat filling.
Since it is autologous fat (from the patient's own body), there is no risk of rejection, making it a popular plastic surgery procedure in recent years.

Step 1. Minimally Invasive VASER Liposuction
Using incisions of less than 2mm, a suitable amount of fat is extracted from excess fat areas. Muk Mei Clinic employs VASER liposuction equipment, which is currently the safest and most selective in terms of fat choice, with minimal damage to the body's tissues, to ensure customer safety.
Step 2. Fat Purification Centrifugation Technique
Fat is purified using a closed centrifuge, extracting the healthiest fat to enhance the survival rate of autologous fat injected into the body.
Step 3. Filling with the FAT GUN Fat Grafting Tool
The FAT GUN fat grafting tool allows for more precise, quantitative, and targeted injections of 1mm radius fat globules, reducing unnecessary harm to the body's tissues. It also allows for multi-layer fat stacking and shaping, resulting in a more even distribution of fat and significantly improved success rates.

Q:Can we estimate the survival rate of autologous fat before surgery?
A:With current medical knowledge, it's not possible to accurately predict the survival rate. What we can do is to make every effort to ensure each step of the procedure increases the fat survival rate, but we cannot guarantee that everyone will have the same survival rate. Generally, fat transplants to the chest, cheekbones, and temples have a higher likelihood of survival, while areas like nasolabial folds and the chin are more prone to absorption.
Q:What's better for full facial contouring, fat grafting, or hyaluronic acid injections?
A:Typically, for small areas that require precise sculpting, such as lips, hyaluronic acid injections are recommended. If you need extensive contouring across multiple areas, like full facial contouring, autologous fat is suggested as it allows for the use of excess body fat, achieving multiple goals in one procedure.
Q:Can autologous fat survive permanently?
A:After transplantation surgery, autologous fat stabilizes approximately 3 months later, but fat naturally ages, sags, or diminishes with weight loss, so it cannot be guaranteed to survive permanently.
Q:Where is most of the fat extracted from for autologous fat transplantation?
A:Typically, the fat is extracted from areas like the abdomen, flanks, and thighs, but the decision depends on the individual's specific condition.
Q:Is it possible to have a second fat grafting procedure?
A:Yes, it is. Since some fat may be absorbed after autologous fat grafting, you can discuss with your physician whether to undergo a second surgery once the fat survival stabilizes about three months later.
Q:Is autologous fat transplantation painful in the treated areas?
A:On average, both the areas from which fat is extracted and the areas where it is grafted do not experience significant pain because the incisions are very small. The sensation of discomfort is more similar to post-workout muscle soreness. Wearing compression garments can alleviate this sensation.
Q:How long is the recovery period after autologous fat facial grafting?
A:It depends on the individual, but swelling will gradually become less noticeable within one to two weeks. Generally, the results will look very natural after about a month.
